United States President Donald Trump does not rule out a military operation against Colombia. After the attack on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Trump told journalists on board the presidential plane during the return from Florida to Washington on Sunday night (4) that a possible offensive in the territory “sounds good to him”.
The republican criticized the Colombian leader and threatened Gustavo Petro, the first left-wing president elected in the country. “Colombia is also very sick, governed by a sick man, who likes to produce cocaine and sell it to the United States – and he won’t keep doing that for long,” Trump said.
The North American president also criticized the Mexican government and stated that the United States needs to “do something” in relation to Mexico. According to him, the country lacks “organization”.
Trump has not spared criticism of Cuba and said that American military intervention will probably not be necessary, since, according to him, the country appears to be about to collapse on its own. “Cuba is about to be knocked out,” he said.
