A man who had his car broken into and had his toll system stolen was shocked to discover the thief had left his phone behind.
The owner of the broken-in car, who calls himself the “CEO of Maryland,” posted a video on his TikTok profile to explain what happened. With the thief’s phone in hand, he confronted the criminal directly after finding out who it was.
“Okay, if your name is Billy Stricklandthanks for breaking into my car last night at Marley Station mall. You stole mine E-ZPassbut you left your phone behind. Do you want it back or what?” he joked in the clip.
In the comments, viewers were amused by the tragic situation and suggested possible acts of revenge. “I wanted to use his phone to call his mom,” one TikTok user wrote.
“No, and I repeat, do not use his phone to send threatening comments to the president,” joked another. “I hope you have reported E-ZPass as stolen so it marks a picture when used… just saying,” suggested a third user.
Other commenters suggested that the phone left behind probably didn’t even belong to the thief.
“I know you think you got him, but how do you know the thief didn’t steal Billy’s phone in the mall parking lot?” reflected one.
“Or Billy’s phone was stolen from another car and ended up in yours. There’s never just one car break-in in an area,” analyzed another user.
