The search for two missing children reached its ninth day, this Monday (12), in the rural area of the city of Bacabal, which is 240 km from São Luís do Maranhão.
The task force is trying to find two brothers, 4-year-old Allan Michael; Ágata Isabelle, aged 5. Their cousin, Wanderson Kauan, aged 8, who was with them, has already been located. In addition to the helicopter, drones with thermal cameras and sniffer dogs are used in an attempt to locate the children.
The State Secretariat for Public Security of Maranhão (SSP-MA) also reported that around 500 agents, including civil police, military police, military firefighters, State Force, Air Tactical Center (CTA), Intelligence, Official Forensics, teams from Bacabal City Hall, through the Municipal Guard, Civil Defense and men from the Jungle Infantry Battalion of the Brazilian Army are working in the searches.
The children disappeared last Sunday (4). Family members said that they had gone to play in a forested area and were not seen again. Wanderson was found by a cart driver in a neighboring village. He was very depressed and remains under medical care. When he was found, he said that Allan Michael and Ágata Isabelle were a little ahead of the place where he was found — a forested area near a village.
