On January 1, 2026 in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Ram unveiled the first Power Wagon with a Cummins turbodiesel engine, marking a historic step in the brand’s off-road pickup lineup.
The 2027 model was introduced via the short film “Resurrection,” presented by Tim Kuniskis, Ram’s head of American brands, SRT performance division, and marketing and sales strategy.
At its heart is the proven 6.7-liter Cummins HO engine, an inline-six turbodiesel that delivers 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque, giving the Power Wagon the highest diesel torque output in its class. Despite the new engine, Ram claims the model remains the most capable full-size off-road pickup.

Cummins in the Power Wagon – a long-standing customer request
According to Kuniskis, the use of the Cummins engine in the Power Wagon fulfills a long-held customer wish. The aim is to combine the robustness of the diesel engine with the model’s extreme off-road capabilities, improving range, towing capacity and performance on trails and difficult terrain.
The Cummins turbodiesel Power Wagon will be launched in the second half of 2026, starting price $88,470 including delivery.
Ready for trails and hard work

Like the gasoline version, the diesel Power Wagon also features skid plates that protect the DEF tank, fuel tank and transmission. The set includes 20-inch matte black wheels with 34-inch all-terrain tires.
The model retains rigid front and rear axles with electronically lockable differentials, unique in its class. The axles are manufactured by American Axle Manufacturing, 9.25 inches at the front, 11.5 inches at the rear with a 3.42:1 ratio, additionally reinforced 38 mm rear half axles.
The front axle suspension uses a wishbone system with Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and an electronically disconnectable stabilizer bar for greater mobility on trails. At the rear, the Power Wagon features a five-link suspension with coil springs, also with Bilstein components, which increases comfort without compromising loading capability. Rear air suspension with automatic level control is available as an option.
Gearbox and increased range
To take full advantage of the diesel engine’s torque, the 2027 Power Wagon uses an 8-speed TorqueFlite HD automatic transmission combined with a 3.42 final drive ratio. The first six gears prioritize power and towing capacity, the last two gears reduce the speed on the road, which improves fuel consumption and noise comfort.
The 31-gallon tank provides an estimated range of up to 600 miles, especially for overlanding and longer expeditions far from traditional infrastructure.
Robust design and unique configuration

The new Power Wagon with Cummins is offered exclusively in 4×4 Crew Cab configuration with a 6-foot 4-inch bed. Off-road angle: approach angle 26.1°, departure angle 26.0°, ramp angle 20.6°, ground clearance 13.2 inches. Mopar rock rails are fitted as standard to protect the cabin and frame.
Visually, the model retains the Power Wagon’s signature aggressive style, with functional sports hood, flared fenders, exclusive graphics on the bed, matte black details and Cummins emblems on the front fenders. Options include advanced LED lighting, RamBox cargo management system, and heated trailer mirrors with full power adjustment and memory.
With the introduction of the Cummins engine in the Power Wagon, Ram expands its Halo model line and strengthens its focus on highly specialized configurations that combine extreme off-road performance, heavy-duty work capability and increased range.
