The court decided to maintain the arrest of Filipe Martins, a former advisor to the Bolsonaro Government.
Martins was the subject of a preventive arrest warrant this Friday morning (02). He was at home, in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, and was taken to the Hildebrando de Souza Public Prison, located in the same city.
The arrest order was given by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). According to Moraes, Filipe Martins, who was under house arrest, had violated the precautionary measure of not accessing social media.
According to Moraes’ decision, the former advisor had carried out a search on the LinkedIn platform. After a custody hearing, the court decided to maintain the preventive detention of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro’s former advisor.
The former advisor’s defense classified the arrest as “illegal”. Filipe Martins was convicted of participating in the coup plot, for having collaborated with the so-called “Minuta do Golpe”.
