Issuing a driver’s license in São Paulo will have a practical exam without a marker and with an automatic car; see changes

by Syndicated News

The process of obtaining a National Driving License (CNH) in São Paulo will undergo new advances starting this Monday (26), with the update of the rules for the practical driving test. The main changes are the definitive removal of the goal stage and the possibility of carrying out the test in vehicles with automatic transmission.

Now, candidates who do not require vehicle adaptation will be able to take the practical exam in regularly registered automatic cars. The measure recognizes the growing presence of this type of vehicle in the Brazilian fleet and expands the possibilities for candidates, respecting the technical criteria already adopted in the exams.

The main change to the route is the definitive removal of the goal stage. As a result, the exam now focuses its evaluation on the circulation stage. The route of the practical exam remains in accordance with the model currently practiced, including, among other aspects, right and left conversions; the correct use of arrow; carrying out the “stopping” procedure in a permitted location; as well as safe and responsible driving in other normal traffic conditions.
