A helicopter transporting employees from a Petrobras platform made an emergency landing on the high seas, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, this Friday morning (02). According to the Brazilian Navy, the aircraft managed to land in the water and the occupants used the inflatable lifeboat available on board.
According to the Navy, all passengers were rescued and taken to medical care in hospitals in the region. To date, there is no official information on the health status of the victims.
The causes of the emergency landing have not yet been confirmed and remain under investigation. Data from the Brazilian Aeronautical Registry, maintained by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), indicate that the helicopter was manufactured in 2024 and had regular documentation and operational status at the time of the incident.
The case will be investigated by the competent bodies.
