The Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) informed the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, that it complied with the court decision regarding the complaints about medical performance in the care provided to former president Jair Bolsonaro.
According to the CFM, after receiving more than 40 complaints, it followed the procedure provided for by law, without issuing an advance judgment on the facts. Some of these complaints were suspended by order of the STF, and the investigation carried out is merely an institutional investigation process, with no intention of interfering in the duties of the Federal Police.
The Council’s position comes after Minister Moraes declared the nullity of the CFM’s decision to open an investigation to investigate Bolsonaro’s medical care. Furthermore, Moraes ordered the Federal Police to collect the statement from the president of the CFM, José Hiran da Silva Gallo, within 10 days.
