Brazil recognizes Delcy Rodríguez, vice president of Venezuela, as the country’s current leader, after the United States captured Nicolás Maduro in an action that took place this Saturday (3).
The information was confirmed by the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maria Laura da Rocha, in a press conference after the emergency meeting called by President Lula.
“In the absence of the current president Maduro, she is the vice president. She is acting as interim president,” said Maria Laura.
In a press conference this Saturday morning, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the United States will govern Venezuela after Maduro’s capture.
The United States attacked Venezuela in an operation carried out in the early hours of Saturday (3) and captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Confirmation of the action taken by American security forces was announced by Trump on social media.
