A large fire hit an apartment on the 13th floor of a building in Cascavel, Paraná, this Wednesday (15). Neighbors took risks to rescue a woman who was trying to climb out of the window.
Two firefighters suffered injuries and had equipment destroyed during the operation, but managed to remove all the victims from the scene. The Integrated Therapeutic Reception Service (SIAT) sent five people to the hospital. Including a 28-year-old woman with 90% of her body burned, a 4-year-old child and a 54-year-old resident.
Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) treated five more people who had smoke inhalation.
The apartment was destroyed by flames, but residents were able to return to the other properties in around two hours. The causes of the fire will be investigated by the scientific police.
