The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this Tuesday (14) that several suspects crossed the so-called “yellow line” – a security area that marks the withdrawal of Israeli troops in the north of the Gaza Strip – in direct violation of the ceasefire agreement signed with the terrorist group Hamas. According to the statement, the military tried to remove the individuals before opening fire.
“Earlier today, several suspects were seen crossing the yellow line and approaching IDF troops in northern Gaza, in clear violation of the agreement. After several attempts to distance them, the suspects refused to comply, leading the troops to open fire to eliminate the threat,” the Israeli Army reported. The note also refuted “reports of terrorists infiltrating an IDF position”, classifying the information as incorrect.
The statement also highlights that the Army “urges Gaza residents to follow instructions and keep their distance from Israeli troops.” The so-called “yellow line” is a buffer zone delimited by Israel to prevent unauthorized movements and surprise attacks near military positions.
According to EFE Agency, Palestinian medical sources reported that six people died in three separate incidents in the cities of Gaza and Khan Yunis, all close to the security area. Four of the victims were reportedly shot in the Shejaiya neighborhood, one in Al Shaaf and another in Al Foujari.
