Germany, through the defense conglomerate Rhein metal, has announced the delivery of new Skyranger 35 air defense systems to Ukraine, mounted on the leopard-1 chassis.
The contract, funded by an EU country with funds from frozen Russian assets, is estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of euros, and production and integration will take place in Italy at Rheinmetal Italy Spa in Rome.
Skyranger 35 combines the mobility of a proven belt vehicle with a high -frequency cannon system that can engage low -flying threats such as drones, helicopters and hostile ammunition.
