Trump administration says the choice of Maria Corina Machado ‘shows that the award puts politics before peace’

Venezuelan opposition leader was recognized for her peaceful defense of democracy and human rights amid the country’s political crisis. The award also includes a cash bonus of 11 million Swedish kronor (around R$6.2 million), awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, in Oslo.
