by Marcelo Moreira

The Federal Police is carrying out, this Thursday (9), a new phase of Operation Without Discount, which investigates a national scheme of associative discounts in the INSS. The action has the support of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).

The corporation reported in a statement that 66 search and seizure warrants were executed, issued by the Federal Supreme Court, in the states of São Paulo, Sergipe, Amazonas, Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Bahia and the Federal District.

This Thursday’s action aims to deepen investigations and clarify the practice of crimes such as inserting false data into official systems, establishing a criminal organization and acts of concealment and property dilapidation.

Operation Without Borders was launched by the CGU last April with the aim of combating an irregular associative discount scheme for beneficiaries of the National Social Security Institute (INSS).

According to investigations, entities had deducted around R$6.3 billion between 2019 and 2024. At least six public servants were removed from their duties and the scandal led to the opening of a Joint Parliamentary Investigative Committee to investigate the case.
