Hamas must “act fast” so that agreement is not withdrawn

United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the terrorist group Hamas should “act fast” so that the new agreement between Palestinians and Israel, driven by the US government, is not annulled.

“I thank Israel for temporarily interrupting the bombing to give the opportunity to realize hostage and the peace agreement. Hamas should act quickly; otherwise, everything will be lost.

Trump has also reiterated that he will not tolerate “any results in which Gaza again represents a threat” to regional peace. “Let’s do this, fast! Everyone will be treated fairly!”

The Plan of 20 points that the Republican presented on Monday at the White House, accepted by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, proposes the immediate end of the war, the release of Hamas hostages and the formation of a transition government to Gaza, supervised by the US president and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The proposal also includes the demilitarization of the track and the possibility of negotiating in the future a Palestinian state, which, however, was discarded by the Israeli Premier.

On Friday, Hamas announced that he accepted the terms proposed by the US. In a publication on Telegram, the terrorist group stated that “we affirmed our readiness to immediately go into negotiations through the mediators in order to discuss the details of this agreement.”

According to Hamas, the liberation of hostages would occur “according to the formula of exchange outlined in the proposal of President Trump, provided that the field conditions necessary for the exchange are ensured.” The note also reported that the Palestinian terrorist group agrees to transfer the administration of the Gaza strip to an independent Palestinian organ, composed of technocrats and supported by national consensus, as well as Arab and Islamic backing, something foreseen in the White House plan.

Hamas has not declared, however, if he agrees to disarm, as required by Trump’s plan.

This Saturday, even, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his government is about to “achieve a great achievement” and expressed confidence that in the coming days the release of all hostages in the hands of Hamas could be announced.

“I hope, if God willing, that in the coming days, during the holiday of Sucot (Jewish party celebrated October 7-14), he can announce to you the return of all our kidnappeds, both living and dead,” he said in a video released by his office.
