Russia dictator Vladimir Putin accused Europe of “fostering hysteria” about Kremlin military action against NATO countries, but at the same time promised that a “very convincing” response to the military mobilization that European countries will be “will not late”.
Putin threatened a speech on Thursday (2) at the meeting of the Valdai discussion club in the Russian city of Sóchi.
“The rulers of united European continues to foster hysteria. It seems that the war with the Russians is practically at the door. They repeat this absurdity, this mantra, repeatedly,” said the Russian dictator, reported by Reuters.
NATO countries have increased investments in defense and in September the Western military alliance announced a new military initiative named Eastern Sentinel, which aims to reinforce the defense of its eastern flank after the invasion of airspace in Russian drones organization countries.
On Thursday, Putin said Russia “simply” cannot “ignore” this mobilization. “We do not have the right to do so for reasons of our own security. I repeat, our defense and security. Therefore, we are closely monitoring the growing militarization of Europe,” he said.
“Germany, for example, says that the German army must be the most powerful in Europe. Great. We listen carefully, understanding what that means,” Putin mocked.
“I think no one doubts such measures will force Russia to act, and the Russian contracted will not be delayed. It seems to me that the answer to these threats will be, to say the least, very convincing,” threatened the Russian dictator.
On August 15, US President Donald Trump met Putin in Alaska to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine. Three days later, the US representative said he would set up a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to negotiate a ceasefire.
However, this meeting has not yet been marked due to Moscow’s resistance. Since then, Russia has intensified air strikes to Ukraine and tension has increased by the action of Russian drones: in recent months, Lithuanian authorities, Latvia, Denmark, Norway, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Germany and France reported that they have seen drones in their airspace, which in some cases led to interceptions and/or airport closure.
