Polish tank Black Panther wins advanced protection systems, reinforced armor and remotely controlled module
Hyundai Rotem presented the final version of the Polish modification of the K2PL tank, which incorporates a two-level anti-drug protection system, as well as other improvements requested by the customer. One promotional video released by the company showed the model of the future combat vehicle.
DRONES DEFENSE
K2PL was equipped with a modern set of systems to face drone threats. Among them, they stand out:
- Electronic War Complex (EW) on board, capable of suppressing enemy drone communications.
- KAPS-2 Active Protection System, which uses millimeter radars to monitor the perimeter of the vehicle and detect approximation threats.
These radars drive towers positioned in the main tower of the tank, which release a load of fragments toward the target, physically destroying it. The video also shows that the two rear towers can spin toward the threat and are capable of automatic recharge after shooting, ensuring greater ability to self -defense against drone.
Structural and localized improvements
At the request of Polish customers, the K2PL version received:
- Reinforced shielding in the hull and tower;
- Remotely controlled module with large caliber machine gun;
- Integration of Polish electronic components, ensuring standardization with NATO requirements.
These adaptations are part of the production process process, which expands the participation of the Polish defense industry in the program.
