Impact on the Ukrainian military
According to Ukrainian defence media Militarnyi, Ukraine is expected to receive 65 MSFVs, designed to enhance the mobility and protection of their troops in high-strength and irregular battles with Russian troops.
The MSFV is an improved version of the M1117 Guardian, already in use by the Ukrainian military. It was originally developed for the Afghan army and was designed to combine mobility and defensive power in hybrid battles.
Features of MSFV
The platform is versatile and has the following features:
- V-shaped body for explosion deflection;
- Mine-resistant armor;
- Compatible with multiple weapon systems;
- It is possible to reconnaissance, quickly transport personnel, and direct attacks on enemy territory.
These characteristics make MSFVs considered essential equipment for operations in conflict areas.
Scheduled delivery
The contract is expected to continue production for the next three years, with initial delivery expected to begin within the next 10 years.
