Minister Edson Fachin takes office of the Presidency of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), on Monday (29), in a ceremony that brings together authorities and follows traditional protocol, with signing of term, changing seats in court and speeches. Fachin assumes the leadership of Supermo amid the final phase of the judgments of the 2022 coup plot.
The new president So STF will also have to conduct discussions of strong social and economic repercussions, such as the regulation of work via applications. Another challenge of the new president will be to deal with the processes that discuss the execution of parliamentary amendments.
Among the various highlights under his rapporteur are the processes related to Operation Lava Jato, whose driving he assumed in February 2017, after the death of Minister Teori Zavascki.
Edson Fachin will be at the head of the court in Biennium 2025-2027, succeeding Minister Luis Roberto Barroso. In the same solemnity, Minister Alexandre de Moraes will be sworn in as vice president.
