US Court of Appeals decides that most Trump rates are illegal

The Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit of Washington decided on Friday (29) that most of the rates imposed by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is illegal.

The Court of Appeals analyzed the legitimacy of “reciprocal” taxation, adopted in April, and another tax package applied in February against China, Canada and Mexico.

The decision does not reach rates applied under legal bases, such as steel and aluminum imports. The case is expected to be taken to the US Supreme Court.
