The Israeli government suspended, on Friday (29), the breaks in attacks and bombing in the city of Gaza, capital of the Palestinian enclave. The respite, adopted in most of the territory, serve as an alternative to allow the entry of humanitarian aid and essential materials safely for the consumption and collection of the population.
The country justified the action claiming that the city serves as the last stronghold of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. In the coming days, Israel’s armed forces should be siege in the region and intensify the earth’s invasion and bombing, which may force the displacement of thousands of people. According to international media, more than one million Palestinians live in the area.
The country’s Defense Minister Israel Katz approved the increase in the military contingent to occupy the city of Gaza. It is estimated that at least 60,000 reservists who were not on the front lines were summoned to the operation, which is part of the largest plan of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu to occupy 100% of the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s strategy is to hunt and eliminate the latest members of the extremist group, which was reduced to a rebel cell in almost two years of war, according to international investigation. The action is expected to manage revolt in the United Nations (UN) and in countries not aligned with Israeli ideology.
