Trump says he doesn’t know if he talks to Putin will be a ceasefire agreement

by Marcelo Moreira

On Thursday (14), Donald Trump said he does not know if the summit next Friday (15) with Russian President Vladimir Putin will encourage a possible ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, since the announcement of the president’s meeting, has shown his dissatisfaction for not participating in a possible solution to the war. In addition, he said he will not give his territory to the Russians.

With this, Trump, considering that he wants a resolution for the war, said the best solution would be for Ukraine to give in to her eastern part. However, as Zelensky will not agree with such a decision, the American will seek other measures for the resolution.

In an interview with American Fox News, the American executive leader said that if there is an agreement between the presidents, he will immediately call Zelensky and other European leaders. However, the expectation is that Putin will not change his position on what he asks for the end of the war.

After the meeting between the leaders in Alaska, Trump will give a press conference. He said he won’t know if he will do it with Putin.

In addition, a possible second meeting, depending on how was the conversation with the Russian president, will be with Zelensky, being possibly held in Alaska.
