Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Tuesday that Russia won the Ukraine War and that it only remains for the West to decide under which circumstances it will admit it.
The Hungarian Premier made the comments in an interview with Patriot on YouTube, and his statements were reproduced by Reuters agency.
“We are now talking as if this were an open war situation, but it is not. The Ukrainians lost the war. Russia won this war,” said Orbán, who is ally of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
“The only question is when and under what circumstances the West, which supports the Ukrainians, will admit that this happened and what will be the result of all this,” he added.
Orbán again pinned the European Union (EU), which filed a statement stating that Ukraine should have the freedom to decide its future, referring to the fact that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not invited to a meeting between US President Donald Trump, and Putin to be held on Friday (15) in Alaska.
“If you are not at the negotiation table, you are on the menu,” said Orbán, who said the statement made Europe look “ridiculous and pathetic” and so opposed it.
“When two leaders sit down to negotiate with each other, the Americans and the Russians, and you are not invited, you don’t run to call, you don’t run, you don’t scream outside,” he criticized.
