The White House began on Tuesday (12) a “campaign” for US President Donald Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a post on social networks, the official profile of the president’s residence stated that “the world cries” for the Republican to receive the award and indicates which authorities have already put themselves in favor.
“President Donald J. Trump is the president of Peace,” says the White House post caption. See who the profile put as in favor of the appointment:

Less than two weeks ago, Trump government spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt celebrated the agreements to interrupt Trump-mediated global conflicts.
“The President ended conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia. This means that President Trump has negotiated, on average, about a peace agreement or ceasefire per month during his six months of office. Nobel Peace Nobel, “said Leavitt.
The award in question is the most important, at the international level, for the person or organization considered the one they did most to “promote brotherhood among nations” in a given period.
How is the winner elected?
The winner is elected by the Norwegian Nobel Committee – all nominated by the Norway Parliament – usually composed of retired politicians. Currently, the committee is chaired by the head of the Norwegian branch of Pen International, a group defending freedom of expression.
In short, all candidates are nominated by the Norway Parliament and the winner’s choice reflects the balance of power in the country.
Both members of governments and parliaments, as university professors of history, social sciences, law and philosophy, and former Nobel Peace Prize Sprectors may appoint candidates. But it is not possible to indicate yourself.
Generally, the list of nominees is kept confidential for 50 years, although nothing prevents people who indicated from revealing their choices.
The first meeting to decide the winner usually takes place in February, when members of Nobel’s Norwegian committee usually make their own nominations to add to the previously suggested list.
Last year for example, there were 286 nominations and this year alone, there are already 338 nominated candidates, of which 244 individuals and 94 organizations.
The committee, from the names on the table, reduces the number of candidates to form a restricted list and each nominated undergoes an evaluation of a group of permanent consultants and experts.
The committee tries to choose the winner unanimously, but if there is no consensus, it is possible to decide through the vote.
