Right -wing candidate for the presidency of Colombia suffers hemorrhage

The Senator and presidential candidate of Colombia, Miguel Uribe Turbaywounded in the head in an attack on June 7, suffered a bleeding this weekend and his health condition is “critical”. The information was released on Saturday (9) by the Santa Fe Foundation in Bogota, where the parliamentarian has been hospitalized for over two months.

“In the last 48 hours, his clinical condition has reversed to a critical condition due to an episode of hemorrhage in the central nervous system. This condition has demanded new urgent neuroscrus procedures that managed to stabilize it,” the foundation in a medical bulletin told.

Uribe Turbay is 39 years old and is part of the right -wing party Democratic Center. He was shot by two heads on his head and one in his left leg while leading a political rally in a park in the Modelia neighborhood of Bogota.

Also according to the medical report, Turbay “had to restart his neuromuscular block and deep sedation to contribute to his evolution” and will continue with permanent hemodynamic and neurological monitoring. “The critical condition and its prognosis remain reserved,” said the hospital.

The politician underwent surgery on July 16 and the procedure went “well,” according to his wife, María Claudia Tarazona.

Investigation of the attack in Colombia points out six suspects

Six individuals are arrested for alleged involvement with the attack against Uribe Turbay. Among them is the material author of the crime, a 15 -year -old detained in the act with the gun used in the attack.

The country’s prosecutor also linked five other adults accused of participating in the planning and cover -up of the attack, such as Elder José Arteaga Hernández, known as ‘El Costeño’. According to the authorities, he would be the alleged coordinator of the attack.

At the end of July, a 17 -year -old who reportedly attended the attack planning meetings fled the state -owned protection center for minors where he remained in custody. According to the MP, the boy reportedly signed a “voluntary commitment to expand interrogation” and is under “protection measure” of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF).

After the attack, Colombian Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez Suárez offered a millionaire reward for information about the attack. “We offer up to 3 billion pesos (about 3.9 million reais) of reward to those who provide information to identify and capture those responsible. I ordered the Armed Forces, the police and the intelligence bodies to mobilize all their resources to urgently clarify the facts,” said Sánchez, at X.
