INSS has already returned values to more than 98% of retirees and pensioners who joined agreement

The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) reported that it has already reimbursed more than 98.5% of retirees and pensioners who suffered improper discounts and joined the agreement signed with the federal government. According to the agency, until this Thursday (7), more than 1.64 million people received the amounts corrected directly on the account in which they receive the benefit.

In all, 2.43 million beneficiaries are able to participate in the agreement. Of this group, 68.6% have already formalized the request and practically all were paid. INSS President Gilberto Waller stressed that about 700,000 people can still join. He stressed that, after signing the agreement, the payment is made within three days, in full, corrected by inflation and without the need to present documents or inform bank data.

Retirees and pensioners who disputed undue discounts made between March 2020 and March 2025 and who have not responded from associative entities within 15 business days can participate. Adhesion is also allowed for those who have already filed a lawsuit, provided it has not yet been reimbursed. The procedure is free and can be done by my INSS app or in more than five thousand post office agencies.

Since the beginning of the campaign, 5.1 million challenges have been recorded. The my INSS application concentrated 59%of the records, followed by the post office, with 28.8%, and the central 135, with 7.3%. The INSS also performed 254,270 letter contests, mainly aimed at more vulnerable beneficiaries, such as elderly over 80 years old, indigenous and quilombolas.

The agency also identified cases of falsification in subscriptions of responses sent by entities, which will open a new phase of the agreement to include injured beneficiaries again. To date, 1,068,046 requests have been responded by the entities and are under review. In such cases, the beneficiary will be notified and may accept the documents presented, contest for ideological falsehood or declare that it does not recognize the signature.

The INSS warns that you do not send links, text messages or request personal data from unofficial channels. There is no charge for fees or requirement of intermediaries. The communication is made exclusively by the My INSS application, the Gov.br/insss website, the Central 135 and the Post Office. Beneficiaries are oriented to redouble their attention to avoid scams.
