Senate approves IR exemption to those who receive 2 minimum wages

Following the clearance of the Senate table on Thursday (7), parliamentarians approved the provisional measure that ensures exemption from income tax for those who receive up to two minimum wages, equivalent to R $ 3,036. The bill now goes to presidential sanction.

PL 2,692/2025 was proposed by the Government leader in the House, Deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE), and received a favorable report from the Senate Government leader Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA).

The income tax table works progressively, and the tax payable increases according to the income range. The collection starts from the rate of 7.5% and reaches 27.5% for the highest income range (over R $ 4,664.68).
