China has presented a new generation of military drones capable of operating in swarms in a coordinated and autonomous way.

Developed by the Norinco state road, the Black Bee models have a modular structure and can be adapted for different functions, such as reconnaissance, target designation and attack with real ammunition.

During a transmission of the CCTV state channel, the drones were shown in action, launched simultaneously and each equipped with six explosive charges. They performed a joint attack against simulated objectives, demonstrating the ability to operate in a synchronized way without direct intervention. The strategy has been highlighted as part of a new era of “intelligent combat unit”, which use a large number of vehicles and artificial intelligence to overcome enemy defenses.

According to experts, this progress reflects China’s interest in developing technologies capable of competing with those of the United States. Recently, the Chinese defense industry has also been accused of copied solutions by the American drone V-Bat, developed by Shield AI.
