The French manufacturer Arquus delivered the first armored vehicles Basion to the Ukraine Armed Forces after a period of three years of testing and evaluations.
The models, based on the Vlra chassis and produced by the Subsidiary Acmat, were officially chosen by the Ukrainians after tests with cheaper versions. The choice of Bastion was considered an option to enter the segment of armored vehicles, but with performance adequate to the needs of the country at war.

The initial supply of 11 units had been announced in April 2023, but the delivery was postponed due to a lack of formal agreement between the governments of France and Ukraine. The production resumed in 2024, scheduled for delivery for July. According to Arquus, production capacity can be expanded to up to 100 vehicles if there is a new request from Kiev.
During the impasse with Ukraine, Archus directed part of its production to Armenia. Bastion vehicles were seen in transit by Georgia at the end of 2023, following the visit of French chancellor Catherine Colonna to Yerevan, where he announced a military supply agreement.
