They reach pharmacies this Monday (4), the first pens for the treatment of obesity and 100% national production diabetes. The information was released by the EMS pharmacist, responsible for the manufacture.
Products have as an active ingredient liraglutide, a substance that mimics the action of the hormone LPG-1. Responsible, among other functions, by slowing gastric emptying and increasing insulin production, thus helping to increase society and reduce appetite, and control blood glucose levels.
According to EMS, two products are being launched: Olire, focused on obesity control and dosage of 3 mg daily, and lurux, indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and with dosage of 1.8 mg daily. It is noteworthy that, unlike other GLP-1 analog drugs, such as semaglutado and thyzepatida, the liraglutide is daily, not weekly.
The new products will have prices suggested from R $ 307.26 (pack with 1 pen), R $ 507.07 (lurux with 2 pens) and R $ 760.61 (olire with 3 pens), according to EMS. Customers who are part of the company’s discount program will have 10% lower access to prices.
The expectation of the pharmacist is that national products would be marketed with 10% to 20% lower than reference drugs, but in a survey by Estadão this Friday on drugstores, Saxenda and Victoza are being sold with discounts of more than 30%, which makes the prices of the two manufacturers to be very close.
