Belarus set a record in July in the number of Russian Kamikaze drones, at least 96 such vehicles were observed during the month, according to a Flagstaff initiative.

On the night of July 30, 26 drones were shot in the country’s airspace. This quantity is the highest ever documented, exceeding the previous peak in December and is much higher than the numbers registered between February and June.

The locals have seen drones several times over regions such as Brahin, Homyel, Mozyr and Narowlya, and in areas bordering Ukraine. In 2023, a total of 145 shahed drones were registered in Belarus, 36 of them crossing the Ukrainian territory and 109 disappeared from radars.

A separate case received great attention at the end of July, when a drone crashed on the outskirts of Minsk. Authorities called it a Ukrainian device, but witnesses and activists of the Belpol group discussed this statement, claiming that the vehicle was coming from Russia and heard the roar of the engine in the northern part of the Belarusian capital.
