It is #Fake Simulation that shows Russia’s tsunami hitting the US; Image is phenomenon in Japan in 2011 Playing circulate posts with a video with a video that allegedly shows a 3D simulation of tsunami wave recorded in Russia on Wednesday (30) reaching the west coast of the United States. It’s #fake. Seal #Fake G1 🛑 How are the publications? The video appears in X publications since Tuesday (29), when an earthquake of magnitude 8.8 caused a tsunami on the Kamtchatka peninsula in eastern Russia. The tremors took place on the morning of Wednesday (30) local time and the waves also hit northern Japan, part of the west coast of North America and the Pacific Central. Posts display a 3D wave animation that originates in Japan, advance through the Pacific Ocean and reach the west coast of the United States and Chile. Captions claim that the video would show a simulation of how Tsunami waves in Russia could reach America countries. See two examples of subtitles that have been circulating: “Tsunami simulator shows the potential waves that could reach the west coast of the US”. “Tsunami with waves of up to 4 meters should reach the coast of South America.” ⚠️ Why is this a liar? Animation has no relationship with Tsunami registered in Russia. In fact, it is a 3D simulation from the University of Thoku International Research and Science Institute in Japan. The video was created to show how the Waves of March 2011 Tsunami in Fukushima reached the Chilean coast in just 23 hours (see below). Formed in 2012, after the tremors that devastated the northeast of Japan, the institute developed calculations models that allow to predict the extension of tsunamis. From this information, graphics and animations were produced that simulate this type disaster. To find the original video, the fact or fake sought on Google for the caption “2012 Bonsai Consultant Co., Ltd. Irides, Tohoku Univ.”, Shown in the lower left corner of the record. The result led to the official website of the University of Tohoku, in which it was possible to locate the simulation. 🎯 What is the context of fake? This Wednesday (30), an earthquake of magnitude 8.8 on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia caused a tsunami. Terromot has been the strongest since 2011, when tremors and tsunami have hit Fukushima, Japan. Until the last update of this report, the most severe impacts of tsunami were recorded in the Far East Russian. Alerts extended to Japan, some countries in America and island regions. There is no record of deaths so far.
