US President Donald Trump celebrated on Thursday (31) the imposition of tariffs on numerous countries, many of which come into force on Friday (1st), ensuring that they are “making the United States big and rich again”, in reference to its slogan Make America Great Again.
“Tariffs are making the United States big and rich again. They have been successfully used against the US for decades and, along with really stupid, pathetic and corrupt politicians, are having a devastating impact on the future, and even on the survival of our country,” the US president wrote in a message on the social Truth.

“The situation has completely changed and the United States successfully neutralized this avalanche of tariffs. A year ago, the United States was a dead country, now they are the ‘most attractive’ country in the world,” added the republican agent in Thursday’s publication.
This Friday, August 1, it is expected to take effect the imposition of tariffs to various countries of the world, including 15% on imports of the European Union (EU) and 50% to copper (with some exceptions, such as copper cathodes that countries like Chile export).
Trump also confirmed on Wednesday (30) the 50% rate for Brazil, along with new government sanctions against Judge Alexandre de Moraes, the Supreme Court (STF), in retaliation to the process that former President Jair Bolsonaro faces in the country.
In addition, he announced the day before a 25% of India because he considered that the rates imposed by the Asian country are very high.
“To all my excellent lawyers who fought so hard to save our country, I wish luck in the important case of the United States today. If our country had not been able to protect itself using tariffs against tariffs, we would be ‘dead’ without any possibility of survival or success. Thank you for your attention!” Trump added in his message.
