by Marcelo Moreira

Passengers from an American Airlines flight had to be removed from the aircraft at Denver International Airport on Saturday (26) after technical failure and fire principle during takeoff. The security protocol was performed with the aid of an inflatable treadmill.

The plane was surrounded by smoke. Despite the opposite orientation, many came out carrying luggage. A man injured a child after unbalanced with the weight of his suitcase and falling.

In a statement, American Airlines said the AA3023 flight plane, which was destined for Miami, presented “a mechanical tire problem during takeoff.” The airline reported that all 173 passengers and six crew members left the site safe and that the aircraft was sent for maintenance.

The Fire Department reported that the fire was extinguished and that emergency teams were called to serve passengers. About five people had minor injuries and were sent to the hospital.

There is still no information on what caused the fire, which will be investigated by the Federal Administration of Aviation of the United States (FAA).
