In Severodvinsk, the Sevmash Shipyard, a solemn ceremony was held at which Russian President Vladimir Putin officially hired the naval flag on the new Knyaz Pozharsky strategic nuclear submarine, which now officially belongs to the Russian Navy.
“The new pillar of Russian strategic defense is ready to protect our maritime borders for decades,” Putin said at the ceremony.
The event also featured a number of senior government officials, including Gyenyis Manturov first Deputy Prime Minister, Alexei Gyumin and Nikolai Presidential consultants, Alexander Moiseeyev fleet commander and Alexander Cibulsky, governor of Alexander Moiseeyev.
