TRUMP MANAGEMENT RATE FRANCE ON SOCIAL NETWORKS

by Marcelo Moreira

The State Department of Donald Trump Management countered on Tuesday (22) a publication of the permanent mission of France in the United Nations and accused European countries of condemning “thousands” for criticizing local governments and practicing censorship.

The State Department’s account in X responded to a message that said that “in Europe, there is freedom to speak, not to spread illegal content.”

“In Europe, thousands are being convicted of the crime of criticizing their own governments. This Orwelliana message will not mislead the United States. Censorship is not freedom,” said the folder headed by Secretary Marco Rubio.

In an art attached to the message, the State Department added: “All that DSA protects is the European leaders of its own people.”

The Digital Services Law (DSA) is European Union (EU) legislation that regulates online intermediates and platforms such as marketplaces, social networks, content sharing platforms, app shops and online travel and accommodation platforms.

Attempts to regulate, investigations and sanctions against American Big Techs are one of the focuses of the differences between Trump and the EU.

This month, in a victory for the US President, the European Commission has given up on including taxes on digital companies in its new revenue plan for the next seven years.
