Taylor Swift Met Gala Looks, Dress Photos

Don’t blame E! for taking a trip down Met Gala memory lane.

With hours to go before the 2026 event—set to be co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Vogue‘s Anna Wintour—some of the most iconic Met Gala looks of all time are being revisited, including those worn by Taylor Swift on the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Indeed, the “Bejeweled” singer made the whole place shimmer during her Met Gala debut in May 2008, arriving on the red carpet in a golden Badgley Mischka design that honored the night’s “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” theme. (At the time, Taylor was 18 years old, just meeting the Met Gala’s minimum age requirement.)

Two years later, in May 2010, Taylor returned to fashion’s biggest night in an ethereal Ralph Lauren dress, following the Met Gala’s nod to “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.”

An edgier turn came in 2011, when Taylor donned an ensemble by J. Mendel.

“We have an ongoing dialogue with Taylor Swift,” the brand’s CEO Gilles Mendel told The Hollywood Reporter in October 2012.” For such a young lady to have such a great sense of what she wants to wear is unusual. I’m very excited to be part of the process.”

Taylor worked with the fashion house once again for the Met Gala’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” theme in 2013.
