Netflix has shared the first photo from the set of Scooby-Doo: Origins, an upcoming live-action series that follows the lovable characters at summer camp.
The cast includes Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, plus Paul Walter Hauser.
Scooby-Doo: Origins is a modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.
The show just began production in Atlanta and probably won’t premiere until late 2026 or sometime in 2027.
After news of the show was first revealed, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Daphne in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies in the early 2000s, shared her support for Mckenna!
“You are going to be perfect!!” she shared on her Instagram story.
