Donald Trump Evan Vucci/Reuters The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Thursday (9), in a post on the social network Truth Social, that Iran is doing a “very bad” and “dishonorable” job in reopening the flow of oil in the region. “Iran is doing a very bad job, dishonorable some would say, by allowing oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. That’s not the deal we have!” he said. Shortly before, Trump made other comments about Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that “we will quickly see oil flowing again, with or without Iran’s help” and criticized the possibility that Iran was charging fees to ships crossing the Strait. “There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz — it better not be, and if it is, it better stop now!” he said. ▶️ The Strait of Hormuz is a maritime route through which around 20% of the oil sold in the world passes. The region is considered strategic and control of its operation has been used by Iran in the war against the USA and Israel. The Strait of Hormuz is practically paralyzed this Thursday (9). Just six ships passed through the strait in the past 24 hours, compared with about 140 normally, ship tracking data released by Reuters showed on Thursday.
