Pope Leo XIV tries to balance a basketball Pope Leo XIV met with members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team this Wednesday (8), at the end of the weekly general audience in St. Peter’s Square, in the Vatican. The North American group, known for its basketball performances around the world, gave a brief performance for the pontiff, who joined in the game and tried to balance a ball spinning on his finger. Also yesterday, Leo XIV praised the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which he called a “sign of true hope.” It wasn’t the first time a pope tried the basketball trick: 10 years ago, Francis also tried the trick during a meeting with the group.
