A person was seen lying on the ground covered in blood, according to images of the incident. Sources told Reuters that there are no Israeli diplomats currently posted in Türkiye, neither at the consulate in Istanbul nor the embassy in Ankara. The Turkish government confirmed the shooting. The Ministry of Justice said it had opened an investigation into the incident. It is not yet known what the suspects’ motivation was for carrying out the attack, nor whether there is any connection with the war between Israel, the USA and Iran, which has lasted more than a month. A man was arrested, according to British broadcaster BBC. Turkish special forces were called into the incident.
