The Russian Defense Ministry said its air defenses shot down 50 Ukrainian drones, but that some of them attacked the Black Sea Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal, responsible for 1.5% of global oil supplies, damaging loading infrastructure and four large storage tanks. “The Kiev regime deliberately attacked the facilities of the international oil transportation company Caspian Pipeline Consortium in order to inflict maximum economic damage on its largest shareholders – energy companies from the United States and Kazakhstan,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported having also attacked oil loading facilities at the Sheskharis oil terminal in Novorossiysk. Six of the seven oil tanker loading points were reportedly damaged, in addition to the distribution center and the oil measuring station of the pipeline system. According to Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, eight people, including two children, were injured in that shelling, which also damaged six apartment buildings and two private homes.
