Disney Paris opens ‘Frozen’ themed area with mountain and ice palace Disneyland Paris, in France, opened last Sunday (29) the Frozen World, an immersive themed area that recreates the Frozen animation universe. The space brings together a water ride, an “ice mountain” and a castle, in a setting that transports visitors to the kingdom of Arendelle (see below). The new area is located within Disney Adventure World, the new name for the former Walt Disney Studios Park, located in Marne-la-Vallée, east of Paris. Olaf in the World of Frozen Disclosure/Disney The novelty includes an investment of around 2 billion euros and marks the biggest transformation ever carried out at Disneyland Paris in its 34 years, according to the Associated Press (AP) news agency. The project is also part of a global plan by The Walt Disney Company, estimated to cost around US$60 billion, which includes new parks, resorts and cruises. The inauguration was attended by Penélope Cruz, Naomi Campbell and Teyana Taylor. The space includes an area inspired by Tangled, around 15 restaurants — including the Regal View Restaurant — and the Disney Cascade of Lights night show, with more than 380 drones, according to Disney. What the World of Frozen is like World of Frozen Disclosure/Disney Inspired by the landscapes and architecture of northern Europe, the space recreates the kingdom of Arendelle, the setting for Frozen. One of the highlights is the North Mountain, 36 meters high and Elsa’s Ice Palace at the top. At the foot of the mountain, there are spaces that recreate the Nordic fishing village and the Bay of Arendelle. See the image above. One of the highlights is Frozen Ever After, a boat ride with immersive projections and scenes from the film to the sound of songs like Let It Go. In the bay, the Celebration in Arendelle show brings together characters such as Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff in performances throughout the day.
