The new commercial version of the EX30 arrives with up to 1,000 liters of cargo capacity, 390kg payload and starting price of £36,010 in the UK market
Volvo Car UK announced on 25 March 2026 the expansion of its electric vehicle range with the launch of theEX30 Cargoa new van derived from the EX30 electric compact SUV, aimed primarily at corporate customers and fleet operators in the UK.
The novelty was developed to meet the needs of companies looking for a compact commercial vehicle without giving up the comfort, technology and safety standards typical of the Swedish brand. The model will be available in two versions: EX30 Cargo and EX30 Cross Country Cargo, the latter with greater ground clearance.

To transform the EX30 into a commercial vehicle, Volvo Car UK carried out a second stage conversion which replaces the rear seats with a flat floor, as well as integrating a lower compartment access panel, increasing practicality for transport. In this way, the vehicle offers 1,000 liters of load capacity and a payload of up to 390 kg.
The load compartment also features a specific bulkhead to separate the cabin from the transport area, as well as rear side panels and modified doors to increase the useful volume. Volvo has also added a wider rear door opening, making loading easier, as well as an additional working light in the loading area and new attachment points on the subframe under the floor, increasing the model’s versatility for different commercial applications.
According to the manufacturer, the conversion can be applied to both new vehicles and units already available in stock, allowing the model to be offered in the 2026 and 2027 model years.
According to Jack Munford, fleet manager at Volvo Car UK, the aim is to bring the same attributes that have made the brand recognized in the passenger car market to the compact commercial segment. “Although we are best known for our private use cars, we recognize that business and fleet owners also want the quality, safety and technology that Volvo is known for in a compact commercial vehicle, so we have created the highly practical EX30 Cargo,” he said.

As far as engines are concerned, the EX30 Cargo will be available with the 150 hp P3, 272 hp P5 and 272 hp P8 options. 428 cv with all-wheel drive. For the 2027 model year, Volvo will introduce the P3 Extended Range version, aimed at customers looking for less power but a range of up to 300 miles. The model will also be available in standard and Extended Range versions, depending on the configuration chosen.
The range will include the Core, Plus and Cross Country Plus versions. Already from the basic version, the EX30 Cargo offers a wide range of equipment, including the Safe Space Technology package, Google Automotive services, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear camera, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic LED headlights and 11 kW three-phase charger with heat pump. 18-inch Aero alloy wheels are part of the standard equipment.

In the Plus version, the model adds features aimed at comfort and convenience, such as Pilot Assist, Digital Key Plus, Harman Kardon premium audio system, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and wireless smartphone charging. Externally, the finish includes a two-tone roof and 19-inch Aero wheels.
Volvo also highlights that the EX30 Cargo has undergone comprehensive testing to ensure that all safety systems continue to function to the standards expected by the brand, maintaining the level of protection already known in its vehicle range.
