A Ferrari announced the recall of 12Cilindri after facing regulatory problems in the United States due to the window glass being too dark.

During a pre-delivery inspection of the exclusive model, it was determined that the windows were too tinted to meet the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

This regulation requires that outward-facing glass must have at least 70% light entry. Any percentage above this can impair the driver’s ability to see, increasing the chance of an accident. Now, 80 units of 12Cilindri are involved in a recall, announced by Ferrari on March 16th.

According to recall documents from Ferrarithe root cause of the problem was determined to be an internal error regarding the technical features of the model for the United States market. Fortunately, the solution is quite simple.
