Paulo Rabello: Copom reduces basic interest rate to 14.75% per year

The Monetary Policy Committee decided to reduce Brazil’s basic interest rate, the Selic, to 14.75% per year, after maintaining it at 15% for five consecutive meetings.

Economist and BandNews TV columnist, Paulo Rabello de Castro, spoke about the first cut in President Gabriel Galípolo’s administration and also the reasons cited, the main one being the war in the Middle East.
