Santos announced this Thursday morning (19) the hiring of Cuca as the team’s technical command. The coach’s contract is valid until the end of 2026.
Cuca takes over from Juan Pablo Vojvoda, who was fired on Wednesday night (18) after Peixe’s 2-1 defeat against Internacional, at Vila Belmiro. Cuca’s technical committee also includes Cuquinha as a technical assistant and Omar Feitosa as a physical trainer.
This will be the coach’s fourth spell at Santos. The 62-year-old from Curitiba has already commanded the team from Baixada São Paulo in 2008, 2018 and 2020-2021. Cuca will have the challenge of improving the team’s performance in the Brazilian Championship. Currently, Santos is in 16th place in the table, just one point ahead of the first team in the relegation zone.
