Goalkeeper Bruno has his parole request denied and remains at large

by Marcelo Moreira

The Rio de Janeiro Court denied the request for an injunction from the defense of goalkeeper Bruno who was trying to suspend the revocation of his probation. With the decision, the 41-year-old athlete has been considered a fugitive since last week, after failing to comply with court rules to sign with a new club.

The benefit was revoked after the Public Ministry identified that the player traveled to Acre on February 15, 2026 – just four days after gaining freedom – without judicial authorization. The decision of the 1st Criminal Court confirmed the understanding that Bruno demonstrated “disregard” for the Justice system.

The purpose of the trip was to sign a contract with Vasco-AC. Bruno is serving a sentence of 22 years and one month in prison for the crimes of qualified homicide, kidnapping and hiding the body of Eliza Samudio, which occurred in 2010. At the time, the player was the starting goalkeeper and captain of Flamengo.
