Amid US restrictions, Brazil sends humanitarian aid to Cuba

The Brazilian government organized an operation to send humanitarian aid to Cuba, according to Planalto’s interlocutors. The forecast is that the air shipment, with emergency support, will take off from the federal capital this weekend carrying medicines and food. On other occasions, the country has already allocated humanitarian aid to nations such as Haiti and Jamaica, which suffered from the impacts of hurricanes. Among the main products included in this aid shipment are generally primary care medicines, such as antibiotics, painkillers and hospital supplies, as well as non-perishable foods to reinforce the population’s food security. The donations were brought together by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agrarian Development, led by ministers Alexandre Padilha and Paulo Teixeira.
