This Tuesday (17), the judges of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) formed a majority to convict deputies linked to irregularities in parliamentary amendments. Parliamentarians are accused of embezzling 6.67 million.
The votes were given by ministers Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin and Cármen Lúcia. Flávio Dino will still cast his vote.
The analysis involves a complaint from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against deputies Josimar Maranhãozinho (PL-MA) and Pastor Gil (PL-MA), in addition to substitute Bosco Costa (PL-SE).
The process under analysis deals with the alleged deviation of parliamentary amendments that should be allocated to public health projects in the city of São José de Ribamar.
According to the accusation, the deputies had requested around R$1.6 million in bribes from the then mayor Jose Eudes as a condition for releasing resources. He was the one who reported the scheme to the authorities.
In total, eight people respond to the process. In addition to the three parliamentarians, they are also defendants Thalles Andrade Costa, João Batista Magalhães, Adones Gomes Martins, Abraão Nunes Martins Neto e Antônio José Silva Rocha.
